“Meeting Cities for Children and Adolescents”

**A Call to Action to Build Healthy and Sustainable Territories**
On Saturday, September 23, 2023, the forum “Cities for Children and Adolescents” was held, providing a space for the inclusion of the opinions and perspectives of children and adolescents from the Metropolitan Area of the Aburrá Valley regarding how they believe the city should develop in terms of sustainability and a healthy environment. The goal of the forum was to highlight the perspectives, fears, and ideas of children and adolescents concerning climate change and the environment in the Aburrá Valley, especially for candidates in the elections to hear them.

This pedagogical and participatory exercise included four sessions: three introductory virtual sessions covering themes related to the climate crisis and the mitigation of its impacts from the perspective of territories, communities, and individuals; and one in-person session where participants applied everything learned in the virtual sessions in a practical and dynamic manner.

From the last session, four projects were developed by the participants: an insect hotel, purification of the Medellín River’s water through reforestation, proper management of solid waste, and reforestation in the city.
